Today Russia has a kind of government that is a mix between a Democratic and Federal Republic. There is a federation of states governed by Russia which is a type of federal republic. Then there is a form of Democratic Republic in which citizens of Russia are allowed to vote for the President and Prime Minister. (No they are no longer communist, although corruption is rampant)
