Due to their nature, Earthworms must have a moist surrounding in order to live, which is why they normally live underground. When it rains they can rise to the surface, where they are able to find their mates. So, in short, Earthworms come out in the rain to find mates, and they are able to do so because the surrounding enviroment is wet.

Being a large carnivore, a black panther eats any number of large mammals and reptiles for food. Often these animals include: deer, wild hogs, alligators, birds and snakes. Black panthers are quick and can catch just about anything for food, what they eat has more to do with their habitat, which is the lower America’s, from the South-West United States downwards.

Although it does depend on the snake and area, lime has been proven my many to keep snakes away. Usually a mixture of moth balls and lime is used to repel snakes.
Here are a few sites that may help you determine its validity:
Testimonials for Lime
and a nay-saying site:
Testimonials against Lime
It is my opinion that the couple dollars spent on lime and moth balls would be well worth the experiment, even if it doesn’t work, but you can decide for yourself.
